Maison Fabre presents  a new pair of gloves inspired by the timeless myth of Orpheus, as interpreted by Jean Cocteau.

Orpheus didn’t hesitate to pass through the mirror that separated the visible and invisible worlds to search out his lost love. 
Our new glove unveils the dreamlike and mysterious universe, inspired by one of the most romantic and beautiful of classical myths, as envisioned by one of the most iconic French directors.

In 2013 on the 50th anniversary of the death of Jean Cocteau, Olivier Fabre undertook efforts to bring back to life the magic gloves of the Beast, that allowed the Beauty to travel across space and time.
It took almost seventy years for these gloves to fly away from Jean Cocteau’s apartment on Montpensier in 1944, down through the rows of linden trees, into Olivier Fabre’s windows and back into our view.
Crowned in an unalterable mystery, the magic gloves have taken up residence in the Valois gallery, where if you listen, you can hear its echoes resonate today.
There is no doubt that all of those that approach will be dazzled and rediscover the eager child who never tires of hearing those immortal words : once upon a time…
